Foundations & Foundation Drainage:
Specializing in foundation work, we collaborate closely with engineers to implement their designs effectively. For smaller projects, we coordinate with concrete contractors to excavate various types of foundations. This includes digging for footer and stem wall foundations, as well as pouring slab-on-grade concrete and constructing "waffle" style foundations for areas with unsuitable materials.
Our excavation process aims to identify sturdy material suitable for concrete placement. If necessary, we adjust the grade by adding suitable material to ensure a stable foundation. All our work is guided by engineer-designed plans and soil reports, ensuring precise excavation and preparation for concrete work.
Foundation Drainage Systems
Proper drainage around concrete foundations is crucial to prevent erosion and damage. We address this by grading the material surrounding the foundation with a negative slope away from the structure. Additionally, we install French drain systems at the foundation base, consisting of perforated pipes and rock drainage pathways beneath the grade.
These systems effectively divert water away from the foundation, mitigating the risk of erosion. We ensure durability by backfilling and compacting the area. Furthermore, we create dry river beds using a variety of river rock sizes to direct water and runoff away from the foundation, further safeguarding against potential damage.
